At their March meeting the Naperville Liquor Commission initially discussed allowing qualifying restaurants to serve alcohol outdoors in Downtown Naperville, on sidewalks that are owned by the city.
At their most recent meeting, the group heard recommendations from staff and restaurant representatives on how to best implement the change and specific language that should be contained within the ordinance.
The commission ultimately directed staff to bring the ordinance back at their next meeting, which will be on May 4.
Once approved the by commission, this ordinance will go to the City Council for final approval.
