A rose, a smile, and a song from a time remembered – that’s what Zita Andre got when her daughter ordered a singing valentine from the Chorus of DuPage.
“Mom has Alzheimer’s, and she doesn’t remember as much as she used to,” Zita’s daughter Patty Rutkowski said. “She remembers some things, so the things that she can appreciate, we love to celebrate and music is one of them.”
It’s a gift Zita can share with her new neighbors at St. Patrick’s residence.
“Barbershop quartet is what they remember. It’s their music, like from the 30s, 40s, and 50s. That’s the kind of music that they remember, so we always try to bring back the music of their youth,” Patty said.
Music touching hearts and memories this Valentine’s day.
