Some former Highlands Elementary School students went back to their past.
Now about to graduate high school, students opened up their fifth grade time capsules.
Old keepsakes, letters, and drawings brought back fond memories of eight years prior.
“Seeing this long ago all of our stuff was so fun. I really loaded myself up for mine too so it was exciting,” said senior Laine Prucha.
“Yeah it was fun and we also had projects that we worked on which [was] good to see too,” added senior Cat Hood.
“I thought it was cool because back then I loved baseball and I still like baseball so it’s still cool it still stuck with me,” said Tommy Carlson.
Students also got the chance to catch up with their Highlands teachers and announced where they’ll be going off to after graduation.
As a 27 yearlong tradition, every Highlands fifth grade class makes a time capsule that they open before their high school graduation.
