The fleet of these electric powered vehicles has doubled in size since being introduced in October as a way to quickly transport residents and visitors around town.
There are now four of these three-wheeled, six passenger Tuk Tuks available for use, and those rides can range from navigating downtown, arriving at meetings, or getting to and from big events in town. They attribute their success to their patrons.
“Everybody is having an overall positive perception of the vehicles. They’re like a novelty ride share. Everybody loves getting them from kids as young as five-years-old all the way up to adults going out to the night,” said Chris Parker, Manager of Tuk Tuk Naperville.
Tuk Tuk Naperville is also the official vehicle of Naperville’s Centennial Beach, with a vehicle assigned to that location all day long.
And they’ve also added two shuttle vans to their services to help accommodate larger parties.
“We have two 15-passanger high-top shuttle vans that we use to help with all the weddings we’ve booked within the past six months, and for larger groups of people we used with Ribfest, to help get people where they were going,” added Parker.
The team is also working to coordinate morning neighborhood rides to the train station.
Current hours for catching a ride on a Tuk Tuk are from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. To reserve a ride call or text Tuk Tuk at 815-609-9705.
