For the second time this week, a car was driven through the front window of a Naperville business, with The Boxes Etc. being the site of the most recent incident.

Today, around noon, a silver Toyota Camry drove over the curb, hit a mailbox and a pillar outside, then crashed through the front of The Boxes Etc. in the Cress Creek Square shopping center. No one was injured in the crash.

“We were enjoying a leisurely lunch in back and I heard some revving of an engine and the next thing I know is I could see it coming through the windows over there which are not there anymore,” said Michele Zajac, the owner of The Boxes Etc.

Twice in One Week

It bore a striking resemblance to the scene at Paris Bistro in Naperville Crossings earlier this week.

On Tuesday morning, a woman drove her minivan through the front window and door of the restaurant. She meant to brake, but accidentally accelerated.

Though there was one couple dining there at the time and the manager was behind the bar, no one was injured.

Naperville police did not issue any citations and the restaurant has since reopened.
