North Central College students have gotten to know the Wentz Science Center since it opened in March, but today the community finally got the chance to take a look and dedicate the facility to its namesake.
Dr. Myron Wentz, a renowned scientist and North Central alum, unveiled the state-of-the-art center, which he says meets the needs of everyone at the college.
“Equipping the faculty and students to model how science is conducted in the real world,” said Wentz. “The Wentz Science Center so adeptly facilitates a collaborative, hands-on approach to teaching and learning. As an undergraduate student at North Central College could only have dreamed of such an amazing facility.”
Around 500 came out to the ceremony, to honor not only Dr. Wentz, but hear about what the future has in store for all of campus.
“The opening of this building has set off a domino effect across campus, enabling us to right size and upgrade other key facilities. Our faculty is equipped with everything they need to provide a world-class education. Students are living and thriving within world-class learning environment and the entire college is reimagining it’s entire programs with the future in mind,” said President of North Central College, Dr. Troy Hammond.
Making this special dedication a highlight of homecoming weekend.
