Broomsticks, pointy hats, and dancing – all essential parts of the second annual Naperville Woman’s Club Witches Night Out fundraiser – a costume party that drew almost 1,000 witches to Naper Settlement.

“I’m the storm witch,” said attendee Marianne Kuhn. “I have a tornado going on my hat – there’s a cow flying and a chicken. Then I made my cape look like a spooky stormy forest.”

Along with a competitive costume contest, there was a live DJ, a henna tattoo artist, almost 40 raffle baskets from local businesses, and more.

“We have 15 vendors of crafts, ghost stories, psychic readings, mansion tours, and two photo booths. We have a lot going on at Witches Night Out,” said Sandra McKeon, co-chair of Witches Night Out.

And proceeds from the fun-filled night are going to a variety of local charities that support women in-need. Lots of witches also brought food donations for Loaves and Fishes.

“It’s a fun time, but even more importantly, it’s an opportunity for us to raise money to help other women in need. That’s the biggest part of the plan for me is helping women,” said McKeon.

A charmed night for charity filled with cackles and camaraderie.
