3A regional final action at Benet Academy with the fifth seeded hosts playing against 2 seed Fenwick. Megan Seranko gets the start, facing off against Alyssa Stramaglia.
Third Inning
We pick up action in the bottom of the third, Megan Seranko on her game in this inning, getting Alena Vaccaro swinging to keep the game scoreless.
Fourth Inning
Bottom of the fourth now, Benet’s defense in the field stands strong as Grace Fajardo gets the grounder at third and tags up before throwing to first to get Tess LaGuidice to end the inning.
Fifth Inning
Top of the fifth with Samanatha Mikita at the dish. She slices one to short stop but Rachel Martinez makes the leaping grab for the out and keep the zeros on the board.
Bottom of five with Cassandra Lee up with runners at 1 and 2. She smacks a double to left field to bringing in Gia Larucci safely while Fenwick teammate Elena Vaccaro gets caught at home. Fenwick up 1-0 at the end of 5.
Sixth Inning
Bottom of the sixth now, Gianna Amundsen up at bat with a runner at second. She finds the gap in the outfit for Vaccaro to cross home. 2-0 Friars lead.
Still the sixth inning and the Friars just seem up be getting started up 4-0 now. Bases loaded and Rachel Martinez singles to center, bringing home Ciara Herbert and Gia Larucci. Benet Academy wouldn’t be able to muster anything in the seventh as Fenwick takes home the regional plaque and moves on to Sectionals.
