Metea Valley, along with McKenna Stone and her record breaking year, welcome the Benet Academy Redwings into their pool for their first meet of the year.
50 Free Style
We start first with the fastest race of the night, the 50 free. McKenna Stone comes in first, naturally, with a time of 23.68. Right behind her is teammate Aimee Patterson in 25.20 seconds.
100 Yard Butterfly
We double the distance for the 100 yard fly next… And again, it’lll be McKenna Stone who comes in first with a very large gap between her and the next swimmer, breaking the pool and school record in 54.5 seconds. Amanda Schmitt, another mustang taps in second in 59.09 seconds.
100 Yard Free Style
Next off the block is the 100 yard free style. Metea’s Lauren Bludgen back for another year and she shows off her skill, tapping the wall first in 53 seconds flat … and again it would be teammate Aimee Patterson tapping in second in 55.25 seconds.
100 Yard Backstroke
Few events later is the 100 back stroke stroke. Another mustang leading the stretch, this time it’s Halle Reifsnyder who taps first and redwing Maura Fitzgerald who comes in second in 1 minute, 3 point 44 seconds.
100 Yard Breast Stroke
100 breast stroke diving in now with Melanie Patterson going up against Tabitha Torres from Benet. Down the stretch, Patterson would finish in first place in 1 minute 7 point 56 seconds while Torress places second.
400 Yard Free Style Relay
Only three teams diving in for the final race off the night, the 400 yard freestyle realy. The mustangs would finish in first in three minutes and 57 seconds with the Redwings behind them which would also help Metea Valley take the victory over Benet Academy 116-63.
