Non conference lacrosse action. Benet Academy visits Neuqua valley as they look to avenge an 11-10 overtime loss the night before to Naperville North. The Wildcats enter this game at 500 on the season.
First Half
24 15 left in the first half, Courtney Costello centers in the front for Christine Corbin. She shakes off 3 defenders and scores. Corbin scores the first two goals for Neuqua.
Just over 19 minutes left in the first, Costello throws the ball on net and it bounces around before Costello tracks it down and then finds twine. Neuqua now up 3-0.
Neuqua now up 5 nothing with 15 minutes left in the first. Allie Zeiler races up field and makes the long pass to Zoey Laipple. She hits Cotello for the one timer. 6-0 Wildcats.
Less than a minute later, Neuqua’s Costello hits a cutting Corbin for her 3rd of 4 goals in the game, neuqua stretching their lead 7-0.
No one in front of Wildcat Caroline Perkins except a bunch of redwing but that’s not a problem. She splits the defenders and scores, Neuqua up 8-0 at halftime.
Second Half
After neuqua knocked one into their own net to put the redwings on the board, they go back to work. Lauren Reitzel blows past the entire benet D then goes around one last defender and scores her second goal of the game, 11-1 neuqua.
Benet still trying to get their offense going, Karly Keating fights hard around a defender and fires one into the back of the net. Wing trailing 13-2.
Shortly after that Margaret Snyder lobs up a pass for Karly Keating in front of the net and she buries her 2nd goal of the game for Benet but Neuqua walks away with the big victory, 13-3.
