Geneva high school, riding a 2 game win streak and sitting at 3 and 2 on the year, travels in to warrior country to face off against Waubonsie Valley who is looking for their first home win as they sit 3 and 3 on the year all ready.
First Set
Geneva down one point in set one, Anna Loberg sets up Devynn Day for the monster kill to tie the game up at unlucky 13s.
Game tied at 18s a little later, that is until Jessica Molina sets up Warrior Melissa Walden for the kill that goes off Geneva for WV to take the lead.
Off of a free ball, Warrior set up and Molina assists Gabi Croll with a big time kill as WV extends their lead 22-18.
Waubonsie’s defense came to play too. Set point and Aryanna Ruffin gets up at the net and puts up a wall for the block and the set 1 win 25-19.
Second Set
On to the second set where WV already leading by one. Geneva’s Cassidy Brown makes a great dig on a kill attempt from Alenzie Fance and then Loberg sets up Day for another big kill tying the game up at 5s.
Little later in the second set, Gabi Croll shows off her serving powers with the hard to read ace. WV now leads 12-9.
Few points later, WV still leading, Molina sets up Walden for another one of her 7 kills, warriors up 15-13. Walden also had 4 assists on the night as well!
Set winding down and warriors looking to finish them off. Tess Stawski sets up Trinity Evans for the set and match ending kill. Waubonsie Valley take it in two 25-19, 25-22.
