Neuqua Valley and Glenbard West battle for 3rd place in Boys Lacrosse. The Wildcats came up just short against New Trier as they look for revenge against the Hilltoppers who ended their season a year ago. The Wildcats offense has been borderline unstoppable since the postseason began.

First Quarter

Early in the 1st Ben Foy forces a turnover, then scoops up the ground ball and has tons of open space. He fires the shot on the run past Aidan Kelly and the Wildcats strike 1st.

Game tied at 1 with 9 minutes to go in the 1st. Josh Crosby fights hard, then spins by a defender and scores to give the Hilltoppers a 2-1 lead.

Wildcats with the ball in transition shortly after. Ben Foy to Dan Curtis to tie the game at 2. Just the 1st of many goals in the game for Curtis.

Game tied at 3 midway through the 1st. Matt Cesario centers to an open Thomas Hoder and the Hilltoppers lead 4-3 heading to the 2nd quarter.

Second Quarter

Ben Frick wins the opening faceoff of the 2nd quarter. He heads in on the attack and passes to Hoder, but the shot is saved by Cam Nevins. He stops 14 shots in the game.

A couple minutes into the 2nd Ben Foy works hard behind the net to fight off a defender and finds a cutting Mark Trelo. He puts the rock into the back of the net to tie the game at 4.

Wildcats with a man advantage midway through the 2nd. They pass patiently and then Mark Trelo bounces home his 2nd of the game to give NV a 5-4 lead.

Final minute of the 2nd. Sam Schink with the feed inside to Dan Curtis. He undresses Aiden Kelly and the Wildcats lead 7-4 at halftime.

Third Quarter

Caiden Perry opened up the 3rd quarter with a goal and he once again has the ball. That always spells disaster for the opposition. He charges through the teeth of the defense and flings the backhand into the net to cap off a 6-0 run. Wildcats as they lead 9-4.

A minute and a half to go in the 3rd. Cade Champion bounces it to the outside and centers it to Ben Foy for his team leading 65th goal of the season.

Eddie McDonald wins the ensuing faceoff. Carter Sessa picks up the ground ball, then sprints down field and bounces the shot past Aiden Kelly as Neuqua has a commanding 12-5 lead heading to the final stanza.

Fourth Quarter

A few minutes into the 4th quarter and Matt Quinn is unstoppable. Knifing his way through the defense and then goes with a 1 handed shot to finish it off. Wildcats lead 13-6.

Looking to avenge last year’s Super Sectional loss, the Wildcats are just pouring it on now. Andrew Arimborgo bounces the shot through 3 defenders to find the back of the net to make it an 8 goal Neuqua lead.

Dan Curtis had a monster game. He undresses a defender and fires home his 6th of the game and 7th of the state meet to put NV on top 15-6.

Midway through the 4th Sam Schink bounces around some defenders and passes to his brother Ben. He goes 5 hole to put an exclamation mark on this one. Neuqua Valley finishes in 3rd place after an unbelievable season.
