Let’s pick up our golf clubs for the Hinsdale South Boys Golf Sectional at Prairie Bluff Golf Course with Benet Academy our only are team competing against Providence, Fenwick, Wehaton Academy, and many others.
6th Hole
We start on the 6th hole with Redwing Jack Driscoll. He goes for the long birdie putt, but just misses. He would lead Benet on the day with a 75.
Teammate Brian Moran teeing off on the 6th hole. He would land on the green and two putt for par.
Benet’s Quinn Shanley joins in on the fun. He bounces and then rolls his way across the green from the tee box. He then gets the birdie to just roll in, confirmed with the fist pump. Shanley finishes with a 76, right behind Driscoll.
Fenwick’s Jake Wikter with the beautiful drive on the 6th hole. He would follow suit and sink the par putt and finish tops for Fenwick with a 73.
13th Hole
Friar teammate Brad Domke on the 13th hole… he tees off to the left of the tee but his ball rolls almost rolls in for the hole in one. He would sink the birdie and finish with a 78.
Ben Zarlengo for Brother Rice teeing off for the 13th, par 3 hole. He lands on the green and qualifies for state as an individual with a 76.
Providence Catholic’s Davis Billows putting on the 13th hole. He grabs par and leads the Celtics with a 75, also qualifying for state.
18th Hole
We finish off the day on the 18th green with Benet Academy’s Brian Moran. He pushes for the birdie putt but the ball breaks just a little too soon. He finishes with a 76.
Fenwick’s Jake Wiktor would lead the charge for the friars though as they were the best team in the sectional. Wiktor sinks par and finishes with a 73. Fenwick takes the Hinsdale South plaque but Benet and Wheaton Academy both advance to state as a teams as well.
