Another day another game… Waubonsie Valley Girls Basketball, coming in seeded 12 for the Plainfield North regional, facing off against 21st seeded Lemont.
Kicking it off with Waubonsie’s Iwoyisi Osagha grabbing the steal and taking it in for the finish, Warriors up 4-0.
First quarter winding down, Lemont is able to get some points on the board. Ieva Tarasovaite pulls the Indians within three, 7-4.
2nd quarter action and it’s all warriors. Junior Halle Williams finishes with the layup. WV leading 17-10.
To the third as Waubonsie builds their lead. Sophomore Mykah Berkmopas has a lane to the hoop and she goes for it as Warriors lead 42-16.
Final minutes of the game and its much of the same… WVs keeshya bellows gets a free look and a finish as the warriors go on to a dominating win 57-27. They face West Aurora in the regional semifinals.
