Metea Valley still looking for their first win of the season after losing to Wheaton Warrenville South last week. The mustangs travel in to Lancer territory to take on and 0-1 squad as well.
First Quarter
Not even a full 2 minutes in to the game and the Lancers all ready on the move. Jordan Colon weaves his way through the line and LP up 7-0 early.
Little over 7 minutes left in the first, and Jordon Colon is at it again, this one with a little more yardage behind it but same result as the lancers up 14-0.
Just twenty second later, Metea trying to move down field but Lake Park’s Anthony Pellegrino recovers the fumble and the lancers regain possession.
Minute left on the clock in the first quarter and Jordan Colon wants the hat trick… he gets the hand off and takes off for his third rushing TD of the night, Lake Park leads 21-0 at the end of the first.
Second Quarter
Metea’s offense starts clicking in the second though, just like last week’s big touchdown… just this time with a new arm behind it. Sophomore QB Logan Frederick throws a bomb to CJ Wilcox who catches it in strides and keeps moving to pay dirt. Metea trailing 21-6 after missing their 2 point conversion.
On the ensuing kick off, Metea goes for the onside kick and regains possession of the ball with just under 6 minutes to play until the break but they wouldn’t be able to convert anything from that.
Three and a half to play until halftime, Lake Parks Nathanial Merchant catches a screen pass from Dylan Curry and he runs all. The. Way. Down. The field. Shaking tacklers while he goes. Lancers now leading 28-6.
Third Quarter
To the third quarter now, lancers leading 35-6, Logan Frederick drops back and connects with his older brother Austin for a big first down, little brother to brother connection helping out the mustangs.
Fourth Quarter
To the final stanza, and Metea’s young QB connectin with another receiver before the night ends. Jaylen Johnson waiting in the end zone with open arms to add a few more tallies for the mustangs but that wouldn’t be enough as Lake Park gets their first win of the season, defeating Metea Valley 35-12.
