Start of the conference schedule has Naperville Central hosting Metea Valley who got their first win last week against Bellevelle East. The Redhawks are 0-3 for the first time since 2006.
First Quarter
First quarter and Naperville Central on the move. Sam Jackson completes a pass to Reggie Fleurima who weaves his way down to the 8 yard line, setting central up at first and goal.
And of course Central capitalizes on that position. Elijah Jordan is the man to cross the line on an 8 yard run to put Central up 7-0 in the first.
Metea on the ensuing drive, looking to keep the game in check, sophomore QB Logan Frederick tosses a deep pass to Jalen Johnson for a first down.
Metea still working their way down field a few plays later, Frederick tries to go through the air again but it is picked off to Luke Peterson.
Still in the first quarter, Redhawk ball. Jackson drops back for the pass but decides to take it himself. He runs right around some defenders and then cuts all the way left to find the end zone to double centrals lead, 14-0.
Second Quarter
Central now up 21-0 in the second quarter, metea punting with Redhawk Jadon Thompson making the return. He goes right and uses the sideline to go all the way down the field for a 78 yard punt return… he knows he’s golden and high fives Jamari Moore, as Central now lead 28-0.
Under a minute to go in the half, Central knocking on the door once more Jackson tosses a 5 yard slant to Bo turner and the Redhawks walk in to the locker room up 35-0 over Metea Valley.
Third Quarter
Third quarter now, Central sitting at third and long. Jackson drops back for the screen but the play breaks down and he is forced to run… but not to worry, he was a receiver last year, remember. He avoids all the yellow and goes 61 yards to finds pay dirt. Hawks now up 42-0.
Still in the third, mustangs looking to stop the bleeding. Logan Frederick finds his older brother, 6 for 5 Austin for a big gain to move the chains.
Logan would continue to go throw the air, finding success with C.J. Wilcox in the end zone to get the Mustangs on the board, trailing 42-6.
Fourth Quarter
Fourth and final stanza, Frederick would hand the ball off to Elijah Wright as the mustangs are in the red zone. He would fight through defenders to get Metea on the board once more but that wouldn’t be enough as Central gets their first win of the season, 42-14.
