First conference match of the year for both of these teams as Naperville Central hosts Metea Valley. The Redhawks welcome Jacqueline Qi back after she took a year off from high school tennis.
#1 Doubles
We start first with one doubles as Metea’s Taylor Goldman and Isabella Palm facing off against Alex Dram and Katie Liu… and Goldman at the net gets the point early for metea.
The mustang dou gets another quick point as Palm returns it at the net and splits the redhawks.
But the redhawks find their footing after losing the first set as Katie Liu jumps up for the point.
Goldman and Palm would prove to be too much as Taylor serves and Isebella gets the kill to take the match in straight sets.
#1 Singles
Now over to one singles with Jacquelyn Qi against Meera Baid. After a little bit of back and fourth Qi would paint the back line for the point.
Meera Baid counters though, with a tough serve that Qi can’t return.
Another longer rally to end the second set. Meera Baid doing all that she can but Qi proves to be too much as she hits the powerful shot down the middle to take it in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.
#2 Doubles
We end with two doubles as Neha Ramachandran gets the quick reaction for the point.
She would do it again at the net for the quick point helping Central narrowly take the victory over Metea Valley 4-3.
