Metea Valley heads into Naperville North with an 8 and 15 record and are in search of their first conference win while the Huskies are off to a hot start and look to remain unbeaten in DVC play.

First Set

In the first set, tied at 7s, Alex Gaertner with the hot hand, gets the ace to put the mustangs in the lead.

Few points later and North keeping themselves in the game, Connor Wojcik sets up Henry Zhou for the kill. Game tied at 15s.

North leading now but they have some miscommunication on the serve and narrowly avoid the ace. The mustangs capatlize though as Brandon Long sets up Gaertner for the kill, game tied at 23s.

But a few point later, the mustangs secure the ace and the first set victory and Tudor Soncodi get the final point, 25-23.

Second Set

Crazy rally in the second set, Metea gets an amazing dig courtesy of TJ Steffgen and then the mustangs eventually get the ball back and reset. Brandon Long then blocks an attempt from Zach Vuagh and then sets up Ryan Owens for the kill. Metea up 8-5.

Game all knotted at 20s and Metea is forced to send a free ball over letting the huskies set up henry Zhou for another kill, North up 21-20.

North ready to force a third set, and Connor Wojcik sets up Zach Vaughn for the final kill, North takes it 25-23.

To the third and final set, Brandson Long sets up Ryan Owens for the kill and he floats it over into no mans land for the point, game tied at 9s.

North in the lead now later in the third set, Ryan Owens kill attempt gets blocked which allows the Huskies to set up a play… Connor Wojcik sets up Henry Zhou for another kill. 13-8 now.

Match point for the Huskies and they accomplish their mission of staying undefeated in the DVC as John Jaworski pains the back corner for the ace and North takes the third set 25-23.
