We head up to the Naperville North gymnastics gym for the huskies senior night… as they say goodbye to the school, Naperville Central head coach Glen Reimers also is saying goodbye, retiring after this year. But before anyone leaves, we have a crosstown meet to get to.

Floor

We start with senior Micheal Hunter on floor. Opening pass, a roundoff back handspring double back tuck. Stuck landing.. talk about a big opening. That helps him to a 9.3 team high score.

Next up, Central’s Ryan Belanger on floor. First move is a dive roll in to a front punch. Little later, he gets some major air as his hands don’t touch the ground. He ends with a 6.7 score.

Pommel Horse

We now head over to the pommel horse with another senior huskie, Eric Loid. He is just in the grove as he rotates around the apparatie for a while, moving all the same and then lands the big dismount for a 6.6 scoring. Big smiles from the senior.

High Bar

Central’s David Majka on the high bar, going up and then flipping around. Nicely done. Regains his grip. For the dismount, a back tuck for a 6.0 scoring.

Rings

Get a lift with Gavin Shipp on the rings. Hanging out with the iron cross… that requires major muscle! He then continues showing off his strength and balance as he moves around and holds positions. Off the rings with the half twist for a 7.6 score.

Stay on the rings with Redhawk Jeremy Venegas He also shows off his strength and balance as he hangs upside down. Pulls off the dismount for a 7.4 score on rings.

Parellel Bars

Let’s round it out with Eric Loud on p. bars. Another example of strength and flexibility as he moves through his routine. The balance that he has is unmatched. He grabs an 8.6 on the bars and the top score in the all-around helping North to a big victory over their rivals 135.1 to 113.4
