Crosstown classic on the ice as Naperville Central and Naperville North face off at All seasons ice rink. The Redhawks sit 4-3-1 on the season while the Huskies have started off strong at 9-2.

First Period

Nothing on the board yet, the redhawks on the attack. Cameron Andres takes aim after moving through some defenders but Kevin Braner grabs the shot to keep the board empty.

Still in the first period, and this time the huskies are on the attack, Patrick Henessy tries to get the goal to go but it’s block. Connor Deturris gathers up the rebound and finds success to put the huskies up 1-0.

The huskies looking to double their lead, still in the first period. Patrick Hennessy takes the outside route and then fires and finds the back of the net but the goal is called off due to high sticking.

Second Period

Huskies on the offensive again, in the second period, nobody notices Gavin Laisle on the break away. He goes one on one between him and Cameron Moore but the huskie gets fancy with his stick work to find success. North now leads 2-0.

Little later in the second period, Naperville Central just getting started, Jordan Spitz can’t get through but the puck gets shot out right to Cameron Andrees who knocks in the goal to get the redhawks on the board, trailing 2-1.

Still in the second period, a little bit of chaos ensues in front of the net, the redhawks reset and push the puck outside and over to Ben Burba who evens up the game, at 2s.

Third Period

In to the third period, still tied and both teams looking to get the advantage, the huskies on the break away with Connor Ryan leading the charge but Cam Moore slides in for the stop, to keep the game tied.

North slowing things down behind the net, the pass the puck around the horn, until Patrick Hennessey finds success off the rebound to put north up 3-2 in the third period.

Redhawks last chance to even up this game once more with time winding down in the third but North’s net minder Kevin Braner shuts the door with the big save for the huskies to win the crosstown match up, 3-2.
