First Half
The Warriors literally could not ask for a better start, Grace Setter with the through ball that Megan Burling tracks down and controls before finding senior Sophia Majher who knocks in the goal just 15 seconds into the game!
A few minutes later, Colette Casey pops a ball up to Grace Setter who somehow gets a shot off with her left foot and into the corner of the net. In a blink WV with a 2-0 lead.
Still in the first half Mollie Valek with a shot that is defleted by a Central defender, but the Redhawks can’t clear it completely as Burling heads it to Roxy Zieba for the goal, 3-0 Waubonsie Valley.
Morgan Burling far from done as the junior with some great moves in the open field to create a window to fire home a shot into the corner, Warriors pouring it on up 4-0.
Under ten to go in the first half, Grace Setter with a picture perfect cross right to the head of Megan Burling for her second goal of the game, Waubonsie with a 5-0 lead at halftime against a team known for being stingy on defense.
Second Half
Central not rolling over in the second half, Maddie Mills takes advantage of a penalty kick to end the shutout and put the Redhawks on the board.
A few minutes later and Central gets another goal, this one from Caroline Reedy who gets it over the head of the keeper and suddenly its only a three goal deficit.
But that’s as close as it would get as Nicole Kleronomos gets a diving stop on a shot from Sarah Scoles and the Warriors gets the win thanks to the offensive fireworks by a score of 5-2.
