The senior heavy Naperville Central Redhawks all ready one and oh on the year travel to face West Aurora with fans getting loud in the stands as they open up non-conference play.
First Set
Early in set one and it’s a little bit of a back and fourth battle with both teams getting in some attacks. Maddy Bylak would end the rally with a kill as the hawks lead 8-5.
Jumping in to the middle of a longer rally, Both teams staying alive with some free balls until Kayla Closset gets her palm on the ball for the kill. Central still leading 10-8.
Little later in the first set, West Aurora staying alive as they find the back corner for a kill, trailing by 4 but Central would end up taking the first set 25-20.
Second Set
Second set action and Central in the lead by six. Make that seven after Kaitlyn Skorwonski tips it over for the point. 10-3.
West Aurora’s defense keeping them alive in the second set. The backhawks get a goof block to cut their deficit to 5.
But with the help of Kayla Closset’s 13 kills, the Naperville Central Redhawks put this one away in two sets, 25-20, 25-17 and move on to 2-0 on the year.
