After a long road trip to start October, Naperville Central is back home facing off against Naperville North. The Huskies look to flip the script after Naperville Central won the battle last time these two teams faced off.

First Set

North up 3-0 early, and the Redhawks look to get on the board. Madeline Bylak does just that off the assist from Grace Butler. Hawks trailing by 2.

North still leading and they continue that trend as Anna Joworski and Kara Oxenknecht throw the block party at the net. Huskies lead 9-3.

Central trying to pull closer. Both teams have to reset and then Central’s Kayla Closset gets the monster kill to put the hawks down just 1.

But the huskies would reach set point and it would be a crazy one. North finally sets back up, Jaworski sets up Oxenknecht for the kill that points the first set away 25-19.

Second Set

In to the second set and Central leading early but North keeps grinding as the ball bounces off a couple redhawks before finding the ground. Central leads 7-2.

Close match a little later on, North’s defense makes a great save and sends the free ball over which sets up Madeline Bylak for the kill. Central up 12-7.

Central leading by 2, make that three as Kaitlyn Skowronski and Hannah Rubino team up at the net for the big block, 17-14, redhawks.

But don’t count out the huskies just yet. To tie the game up at 20s, North’s Rachel Rhatz gets the kill to find space.

Set tied at 23s now and North still trying to grab hold of that lead. Little back and fourth and then Rhatz gets up at the net for the block to pull the huskies in from behind, 24-23.

On set point and North looking to finish it in 2, Jaworski sets up Rhatz for the big time kill that falls between central’s blockers for Naperville North to handle the Redhawks in two sets, 25-19, 2-23.
