2nd of 3 games being played between Naperville North and Neuqua Valley. The Wildcats took the first one 10-5 and send Casey Pickering out on the mound in this one looking for their 13th win.
First Inning
Bottom of the first, Nolan Clifford leads off for the Wildcats and he smokes a single down the right field line.
Still the bottom of the first, runners at first and second now. Ethna Schreier sends a drive into left center. A pair of huskies dive for the ball, but it falls letting two runs cross the plate. Neuqua up 2-0 at the end of the first inning.
Second Inning
Top of the 2nd now with 2 outs. Casey Pickering strikes out Jacob Sharm looking to end the second inning in the lead.
Third Inning
Top of the third now, runners at 1 and 2 with no outs. Cliff Vickers smashes one on the ground and it eats up Nolan Clifford at 2nd which allows Quinn Sheehan to score. Huskies trailing by 1.
Next batter, Jacob Miller sends a shot to center that gets caught by Ethan Schreier. Mike Bruebach comes in to score, Game tied at 2s heading to the bottom of the 3rd.
Still the bottom of the third with a runner at third now, Justin Blazek lifts a fly ball to right field. Ben Lindflott makes the catch and Nolan Clifford scores from third, NV up 3-2.
Sixth Inning
Top of the 6th with a runner at 3rd with two outs, Casey Pickering strikes out Jacob Miller with the off speed pitch to end the threat, Neuqua still in the lead 3-2.
Seventh Inning
Nolan Clifford, coming in in the 7th for the save, strikes out the side on 10 pitches to earn the save and secure the conference win for Neuqua improving their record to 13 and 4 on the season.
