We get another sectional semifinal game at Neuqua valley as the hosts face off against Naperville North.
First Quarter
First quarter amd Mprth strikes first, Riley Thompson finds space in the front of the net and skips it in to start scoring.
Neuqua’s turn to get on the board off a rebound, Pierce Salafatinos gathers the left overs and the goal to knot the game up at 1.
Later in the first, North up one. Jack Wallace gets up in front of the net to score with his finger tips. North looking good early up 4-2.
Second Quarter
But don’t count out the cats. Second quarter Michael Leshock drills a corner goal to tie the game up once again, now at 4.
Later in the second and Neuqua trying to build on a one goal lead. Matt Townsend whips a backhand shot in to extend the lead to two.
North has a quick answer though, Riley Thompson finds the net to cut the lead back to 1, 8-7.
And then suddenly Neuqua takes the lead… check this one out from way out, Pierce Salafatinos lobs one with just two seconds left in the half, Neuqua up 9-7.
Third Quarter
We continue the scoring into the third. The Cats look to remain in control one more. Ryan Corcello unloads from the top and scores, 10-7.
But don’t call this game over just yet. Owens Jacobs helps North stay afloat with the skip shot. Huskies trailing by just 1.
Fourth Quarter
To the final stanza and the cats have captain clutch Matt Townsend. Here is goes with a no looking goal to push neuqua lead up once again to 2, 13-11.
Later in the fourth and neuqua up 2 still. Ryan Cercello wings up from deep and gets it to go. Neuqua can start the celebration as they go on for the 16-14 win over Naperville North and Advance to the finals.
