Neuqua Valley opens up the season by hitting the road at Glenbard North. Mark Gronowski is back as the signal caller along with 8 other starters on offense as they look to start out the season on the right note
First Half
8 and a half to play in the 1st, the Panthers are backed up in side the 10, but Cordell Smiley changes the field position, hitting the hole and going down the near sideline for 43 yards
Inside the red zone now and Michael Vazquez uses the play action and tosses it to Andrew Susumano in the corner of the end zone and the Panthers lead 7-0
Gronowski and the offense go to work on the ensuing drive as he hits Patrick Hoffmann on the out route for 12 yards and a 1st down
Wildcats at the Panthers 15 to start the 2nd and Gronowski shows off with his legs bouncing it to the outside and taking it to the house. Glenbard North adds a field goal and they lead 10-7 at halftime
Third Quarter
Opening drive of the 3rd quarter, Wildcats facing 3rd and 1 and Gronowski calls on his own number with the audible and he goes 25 yards untouched into the end zone off a QB sneak to give NV a 14-10 lead
2 minutes to play in the 3rd and the Wildcats have the ball at the goal line. They hand it off to Armani Moreno for the score. PAT no good and Neuqua leads 20-10 heading to the 4th quarter
Fourth Quarter
The Panthers are desperately trying to get something going on offense. Vazquez drops back, but gets taken down by JJ Robertson. 1 of 2 sacks in the game for the senior
Neuqua Valley puts this one away in the 4th. They once again call on the legs of Gronowski. He takes it 15 yards, but loses the ball. Not to worry though. Armani Moreno is in the right place at the right time as he scoops up the ball and takes it the rest of the way for the touchdown. Wildcats open up the season with a win for 5th year in a row
