Another cold night at Metea Valley, hosting the regional semifinal game against DVC opponent Neuqua Valley. In the regular season the mustangs defeated the wildcats 3-1.

First Half

The mustangs looking good early on, looking to get on the board with Tyler Kero’s airborne shot. It bounces just over the cross bar to keep the zeros on the board.

Metea’s offense still on the move later on in the first. The mustangs with another chance with the bouncing ball. Kero wrangles it in and finds twine to put the mustangs up 1-0.

Metea looking to double their lead still in the first half. The Mustangs clear the ball and send it all the way to Colin Bastranoni on the breakaway. He sends the cross right to Alex krehl who just nudges it into the net. Mustangs up 2-0 at half time.

Second Half

Coming out of the break, Neuqua Valley looking to get on the board and cut in to the mustang lead. Matt Szimon goes for the attempt but a diving Ghandi Cruz stops the shot.

Neuqua again, looking to get something going. Some fancy footwork from Jack Bella to shake his defender and then he rips one to the net from distance but it is too wide.

The mustangs however, have no trouble finding the goal for a third time. They would put it away with the bouncing ball and header by Mark Thurow. The msutangs move on to face West Aurora in the regional championship.
