First Half

The Redhawks in the lead early in the first set but the wildcats cut in to that with Faith Johnson hitting right into a block for the point.

Just a few points later and Central’s Kayla Closset gets the tap over for the point, leading 8-6.

Redhawks up by 3 later in the first set, Johnson goes for another kill but Closset digs it out and sets up Madelyn Bylike. Her attempt is received but the wildcats cant get there for the redhawk point. 17-13.

Neuqua Valley trying to stay alive late in the first set. Lauryn Housholder and Liel Thomas get in on a block party for the wildcat point trailing 22-19.

Johnson gets another one of her ten kills on the night as the wildcats trailing by just 22 now, 24-22.

But Closset would put the first set away as she gets the 1 2 3 kill off for the Redhawks to take set one 25-23.

Second Set

Second set and the Redhawks continuing that momentum. Caroline Hughes sets up Bylak for one of her 9 kills on the night as Naperville Central leads 7-5.

But we can’t ignore Faith Johnson as she winds up for another big attempt that goes right off of Centrals defenders for the wildcats to stay in the game, trailing by 1.

Naperville Central’s defense would learn though, as Kaitlyn Skowronski gets up at the net to tap the over pass down. 17-12 NC leads.

Redhawks really starting clicking at the end of the second as they get a 1 2 3 kill to land thanks to Closset, Central up 23-22.

Second set ends and the Redhawks take the home their first regional plaque in ten years as the wildcats just can’t get the ball over the net. Naperville Central moves on to face Benet Academy in the Sectional Semifinals.
