Fall is definitely in the air as we hit the courts with Neuqua Valley and Naperville North. Both teams gear up for tournaments over the weekend but first have to conquer this DVC match.
#2 Doubles
We start first with #2 doubles. Wildcats Hannah Kestenburg and Yurui Sun against Tiffany Cheng and Callie Genovese.
A few lob shots start the rally but then Hannah Kestenburg brings the slam down for the Wildcat point.
But the huskies find their groove a few points later. Tiffany Chang beats Kestenburg on the outside for North to grab a point.
Wildcats making the huskies move their feet a little later. Tiffany Chang hits the ball high into the air setting up Yurui Sun who slams it past the huskie.
After Neuqua took the second set North would play the next set lower to the net but despite grabbing the point off this rally, the Wildcats would still take the match in 2 sets, 7-5, 6-4.
#1 Doubles
We move now to #1 doubles with Tiffany and Irene Zhang facing off against Sofia Ramos and Emiley Piao… and Irene starts off strong with an ace.
Little later, off Tiffany Zhangs return, Neuqua’s Sofia Ramos up at tht net finds open court past Irene for keep the Wildcats in the game.
Tiffany and Irene Zhang are unbeaten and they plan to keep it that way after a little back and fourth, Irene hits a strong return showing off her power.
After close returns in the second set, Irene Zhang hits a strong return on the outside giving North their only match win in #1 doubles as Neuqua Valley takes the day, 6-1.
