We pick things up on the court at Naperville North as they welcome the wildcats to town. Neuqua Valley coming off a big three set win over rivals Metea and they look to continue that as we start round 2 of DVC action.
First Set
We jump in to a long rally at the beginning of the first set, North’s Eva Hartung gets the set from Anna Jaworski and finds the floor for North to take the early lead 2-1.
North now leading 12-9 and Wildcat Ally Knapczyk cuts in to that with an ace, Neuqua trailing by just 2 now.
First set now tied at 20s and Neuqua looks to grab hold of the lead for the first time as Faith Johnson gets one of her nine kills on the night. Cats now lead 21-20.
Set point as Neuqua went on a little run. North forced to send the free over and Neuqua takes advantage as Johnson gets another slam to end the first set 25-20 after they trailed for most of the game.
Second Set
Neuqua starts off the second set better than the first, Leading 6-3 makes that 7-3 after Lauryn Housholder gets the ace for Neuqua.
North trying to make the comeback after coming out strong in the first set, Ellie Hall gets the slam to bounce off Johnson. Huskies down 8.
North now trailing by 14 but Eva Hartung does what she can with the kill to cut into the cats lead.
On set point, Neuqua’s Riley Ammenhauser at the net hits hard enough for the ball to find floor on north’s side as Neuqua Valley takes the second set easily 25-11.
