First conference game of the year for Neuqua as Kevin Kauling and the Wildcats invade Waubonsie Valley. The Warriors are looking to get back on the winning track after losing to Schaumburg.
First Set
Waubonsie leading in the first set by 2, Aiden Schmitz sets up Machael Lu for the slam, 5 to 2 now.
Neuqua finding their footing though, Waubonsie digs out a rocket of a serve from Kauling but they then have to reset… Kauling then decies to set up Tom Blankschein for the kill, Wildcats now in the lead.
Waubonsie trying to catch the wildcats sleeping, Ben Jordan flotas a shot over by Jeremy Cardenas isn’t fooled and immediately knocks it back over for the point.
Neuqua does get caught off guard a little later though. Stan LaGuerre sends over a serve that doesn’t come back for the ace.
But the Wildcats don’t let the Warriors come too far back. Kevin Kauling fakes the set and then slams one over, 17-13 now.
Set point for Neuqua, Kauling tires to set up Jack Schiewe but it gets blocked. The warriors try to reset but Kauling emphatically shuts the door on this set with a no look missile to the back line.
Second Set
Neuqua already in the lead in the second set and what a surprise… Kauling gets another one of his five kills on the night…. 4-1 Neuqua.
Kauling also let the wildcats in assists with 18… here he is setting up Gabe Scharosch for the kill. Wildcats leading 12-6.
And once again, Neuqua Valley on set point, Wyatt Wenzel sets up Jack Young for the kill and Neuqua takes the 2 set victory 25-15, 25-13.
