Neuqua Valley enters the Wheaton Classic for pool play facing off against one of the hosts Wheaton Warrenville South.
First Song
Neuqua pulls in to the lead early in the first set thanks to Ally Knapczyk with the ace. Cats up 2-1.
Few points later and Neuqua extends their early lead at Lauryn Housholder gets the solo block, wildcats up 5-1.
Neuqua resetting off a blocked point and this time Riley Ammenhauser gets the nod in the middle to push the cuts lead up 11-4.
On set point for Neuqua Valley in the first set, the tigers hit the ball out of play and Neuqua wins set one 25-15.
Second Set
Second set action now and the cats tie the game up at 6s with an ace from Bailey Houlihan.
But the tigers start clicking in the second set. Zayna Meyer (18) gets a big kill as the Tigets maintain the lead 16-11.
The Tigers push the match to a third set off a serving error from the cats, winning 25-18.
Third Set
WWS already with a major lead in the third set but Neuqua isn’t discouraged just yet. Off a rally, Taylor O’Malley paints the back corner cutting the Tigers lead to 8.
Zayna Meyer at it again with a quick reaction at the net for the point for the Tigers, up 20-8.
And then the tigets complete the comeback in the third set as their block party up at the net wins them the final game, 25-11, taking the match in three sets.
