We enter pool play with Brad Baker and the Benet Academy Redwings. The Red and Black enter the first match of the tournament undefeated and face off against the Oswego East Wolves.

First Set

Early in the first set, Hattie Monson comes sliding in for the dig and then Rachel Musienga sets up Kyla Kenney for the kill. Wings up 3-1.

The wolves keep it close in the early goings. Kiley Mitchell gets the kill, Oswego East down 1.

Colleen McGuire does her part in the first set, serving up an ace, extending Benet lead 8-4.

And then Sophie Gregus gets an ace just a few points later to keep the wings rolling up 18-11.

Quick point for McGuire near the end of the first, Musienga sets her up and she powers one home, Benet leading 20-12.

Benet continue to dominate through the first, taking the set off a service error from the wolves, 25-16.

Second Set

On to the second set where Benet all ready on a 7 to 0 run… make that 8 as Musienga serves up an ace.

Gregus gets another ace on the night in the second set, extending the wings lead 10-1 over the wolves.

OE starts connecting late in the second as Sarah Milas gets set up and hits between the blocks, trailing 11-3.

But the wings would prove to be too much, after a really long rally, the Benet stays undefeated after the Wolves get four hits on one side, taking the match 25 -15, 25-12.
