It’s the last dual meet of the regular season as Metea Valley honors their season before jumping in the pool against valley rival Waubonsie Valley.
100 Butterfly
We begin the night with the 100 butterfly and at the end of the race it comes down to two mustang brothers fighting for first, Jeddrick and Jaeddan Gamilla. But beating his brother by point 61 seconds, Jeddrick pulls out the close victory in 53.12 seconds.
100 Freestyle
Next off the blocks is the 100 freestyle and it’s another close race between Mustang Tyle Leslie and Warrior Brian Knothe. In the end, Leslie just edges out Knothe by point 06 seconds, in 50.98.
200 Freestyle
Only three teams in this 200 freestyle relay but again, it comes down to a close race. The Metea Valley relay team of Jeddrick Gamilla, Tyler Lelie, Jack Damhorst and George Wang come up with the win in .42 seconds.
100 Backstroke
We start in the water for the 100 yard backstroke… Have a mentioned a close race??? It’s the story of the night as this one comes down to point 06 seconds between waubonsie’s Arnav Deshpande and Metea’s James Cronin. It’ll be the warrior, tapping in 56.58 that gets the win.
100 Breaststroke
We round out the night with a not so close race in the 100 breastroke. Mustang Jeddrick Gamilla breaks away from the pack and gets another win, this time by 4 seconds for a final time of 1:01.21 seconds… like I said the story of the meet was close races and the end score is no different as Waubonsie just edges the mustangs 86-85.
