We follow up with Regional Final Action with Waubonsie Valley Boys Soccer. The game, originally set for Saturday, rescheduled due to weather. The warriors defeated Plainfield South 4-1 in the semis to get to this game to face off against Oswego.

First Half

12 seconds in to the game and the warriors pushing down field. Jorge Gallegos picks up the loose ball and bends it towards the night, right past Oswego’s netminder to open up scoring, 1-nil WV.

6th minute and Oswego’s Steven Udy with the penalty kick. He slides it right in to the back of the net, to even the game up early.

16th minute and Oswego looking to take hold of the lead. Norman Hernandez with some fancy footwork, he takes aim but Bryan Grimaldo gets his hands up to block the shot.

Waubonsie’s Grimaldo with two big time saves during a mad scramble in the box to keep the game even in to the second half of play.

Second Half

26 minutes left in the game and Waubonsie Valley looking to regain the lead. Noah Glorioso with the throw in & the ball bounces around until Javi Gonzalez puts the pall in to the net. WV leads 2-1.

Warriors continue moving the ball on offense. Milan Erastus gets the ball in the box and he squares it to Diego Corrillo who puts the ball in to the back of the net, bonsie cruising now leading 3-1.

Just two minutes later, Oswego with a free kick in to the box and after a lot of chaos with players falling on the ground on defense, Normal Hernandez finds the twine to cut the warriors lead to 1.

17 minutes left to play, and it’s deja vu. Almost the exact same thing happens as the last goal as the ball bounces all over the place until Mason McCaw nudges it in to the net. The game is all knotted up at 3 apiece.

Under 10 minutes left and Oswego finds the lead off a corner kick. Collin Moran’s head connects with the ball and that puts the panthers in the lead 4-3.

Under four minutes to play and Oswego puts this game on ice with a free kick. Mason McCaw gets his second goal of the night with this header as the Panthers get the come from behind win, advancing to play Naperville North in the Sectional Semifinals.
