About Chance for Sports
Chance for Sports is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that collects gently-used sports equipment for underprivileged children. The organization was founded by Anuva Shandilya in 2015. Having grown up playing a variety of sports, like lacrosse, soccer, ice skating, and Varsity track and field in high school, Anuva has an unparalleled love of sports. She has an equal love of traveling, having been to over 30 countries, such as Nepal, Cambodia, Costa Rica, and more. Anuva witnessed the impoverished state that children all over the world lived in and knew she wanted to make an impact in her own way. So, with the help of her brother, Daksh Shandilya, the two began going door-to-door and partnered up with local companies including Play it Again Sports, to solicit gently-used sports equipment. Now, with five chapters in the U.S. and one in India, they have collected over $50,000 worth of sports equipment for over 2,000 underprivileged children in Zambia, Mexico, Haiti, Bolivia, the U.S. and India.
