Neuqua Valley boys Baseball competing in the Sectional Final game against Plainfield Central. Winner advances to the super sectionals on Monday against St. Charles North.
First Inning
Bottom of the first with runners at first and second for Neuqua. Justin Blazek flies out to right and Plainfield’s Bobby Boekeloo doesn’t catch the ball allowing an error and wildcat Ethen Screier to come home. Wildcats on the board 1-0.
Second Inning
Bottom of the second now, bases loaded with Mike Gould at the plate. He hits a sac fly to right, allowing Mitch Rokosz to score, Neuqua doubling their lead early, up 2-0.
Third Inning
Cruising right along to the bottom of the third, bases juiced again for the wildcats. Mitch Rokosz grounds into a double play to end the threat for Plainfield Central, 2-0 cats going in to the fourth.
Fourth Inning
Top of the fourth with a man on third. Plainfield Centrals Brandon Micetich rockets one to right center… over the fence for the two run homer. Game all tied up at 2.
Same inning with men at one and two with Sam Pileggi up to bat. He singles to center driving in Daniel Guiliano for the wildcats to take the lead 3-2.
Still the top of the fourth, Plainfield Central just connecting now with the bases loaded. Justin Divelbiss drives in two more runs for Plainfield Central to take a commanding 6-2 lead.
Sixth Inning
Bottom of the 6th, cats trailing by 3. Nick Taylor grounds out to the pitcher but brings in Matt Hill. Neuqua down 6-4.
Seventh Inning
Top of the seventh and Plainfield Central in control of this ball game. Jake Donahue doubles to right, bringing in Sam Pelggi and Bobby Boocaloo for the cats to go up 6.
Bottom of the seventh, Neuqua’s last hope to start a rally but Matt Rokosz lines into adouble play to end the game, 11-4. Plainfield Central advances to the super sectionals.
