Large Event Payment Changes

The liquor code rule requiring ticket sales at large scale events in town has changed to allow for other forms of non-cash payment. Modernized options like RFID wristbands have created new possibilities for large events. Last year, Ribest tried out the RFID wristbands with up to 20 percent of guests using them. The change in the liquor code applies to events of 2000 people or more and any new non-cash system will have to be approved before application.

Valentine’s Day Balloons

This Valentine’s Day you can lift seniors’ spirits with the simple gift of a balloon. The DuPage Care Center is asking the public to consider a $3 donation, which would allow them to buy a heart shaped balloon for one of the residents, delivered on Valentine’s Day. Last year, more than 800 balloons were purchased to fill the center’s halls. You can donate through February 13 at the DuPage Care Center Foundation website.
