The first annual Cavalcade Tour of Homes, kicked off on September 7, with 22 homes on display throughout six counties, including seven homes right here in Naperville.

“Northern Illinois Home Builders Association has done a Cavalcade for many years and a lot of people may know that where it was a single location tour where 10, 12, 14 builders would build homes and you’d be able to kind of walk down the street,” said President of the Northern Illinois Home Builders Association, Court Airhart. “Our association and our builder membership has changed and our area quite honestly has grown and filled in. We thought a better way to meet the needs of our builders for a cavalcade is to have a scattered sight tour.”

The tours take place from Thursday to Sunday untill September 17, with designs from 17 different builders featured.

“One ticket will gain you entry into all the homes, we don’t expect somebody to be able to get to every home in one day, and so give an opportunity to get out and see some different homes and some people might want to go back to a second home,” added Airhart.

And while guests can take in the different homes and unique designs, they’re also supporting a good cause, as 40 percent of all ticket sales go to Naperville Responds for Veterans and the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans.

“It’s a perfect fit for a home tour like this. We help veterans with their housing needs and what a perfect partnership to have a charitable partner with the cavalcade of homes,” said President of Naperville Responds for Veterans, and Principal of Lakewest Custom Homes, Dan Jurjovec.

Giving people the chance to see homes, while helping house veterans.

Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased online and through the Parade Craze app.
