The Fort Hill Activity Center will be expanding.

The Naperville Park District announced plans to build a $2.1 million expansion for the community fitness center at its latest board meeting.

That addition will add nearly 4,000 square feet of studio space meant for classes and amenities.

The center currently is 80,000 square feet, with 6,700 people signed up for memberships.

The new expansion is meant to help keep up with the demand for use of the space and its many offerings. Construction is scheduled to start next year.

The park board also announced the name of the future pavilion at Southwest Community Park. Park-goers can take shelter under Wolf’s Crossing Pavilion.
