Jeremy Roenick, who played as a Center for the Blackhawks from 1988-1996, stopped by Aurelio’s Pizza of Naperville as part of a meet and greet put on by Aurelio’s.
“You know who’s better to represent Chicago and the Blackhawks then Jeremy Roenick? It covers generations of hockey fans, and he’s a great spokesperson, he’s very personable with everybody and just a great guy to have on your team,” said Joe Aurelio, President and CEO of Aurelio’s Pizza.
Fans decked out in Hawks gear came out for their chance to meet Roenick, take pictures with him, and get autographs. Some even made the journey from several states away.
“One of my favorite things is Aurelio’s and I love Jeremy Roenick and and I said ‘do you want to go?’ and he said ‘yeah,’ lets go! So I drove all the way down last night and anxious to see Jeremy today,” said Bryant Broderick, a Jeremy Roenick fan who drove from Bloomington, Minnesota to meet Roenick.
The meet and greet was part of a fundraiser for NCTV17, organized by Aurelio’s who saw it as their chance to give back to the community. A good goal to have in Jeremy’s eyes.
“Oh it’s wonderful, I’m so glad you came out to do this with us this afternoon,” said Celeste Wagner, Owner of Aurelio’s Pizza at Springbrook Square.
“Well I think what’s even more important is you Aurelio’s and who you support, NCTV17, you know its amazing that you come out and give back to the community and what NCTV17 does in the community,” added Roenick.
