It wasn’t old standards like Monopoly and Sorry – instead it was Ticket to Ride, Mau Mau, Bears Versus Babies and more at the Naperville Library’s first adult game night.
“We’re lucky enough that our teen space and other places in the library have a lot of wonderful board games, so we’re using some of those. We also encouraged participants to bring their own games,” said Shoshana Frank, adult and teen services associate at the Naper Boulevard Library.
Along with a few games, the library provided a nice space, tables, and snacks. Anyone was welcome to drop by and enjoy the evening.
And the event saw a good turnout – about 20 people came in.
“People are always looking for ways to meet others with similar interests, and playing board games makes it a little easier than going up to a random adult and saying ‘hey I want to be your friend’” said Frank.
And this game night had people sitting around the same table, talking to, and laughing with others who were strangers just earlier in the day.
