After severe thunderstorms swept through Naperville on Tuesday, the city is working to restore remaining power outages and clear tree damage.
Service requests and tree damage reports
Linda LaCloche, the city’s director of communications, said the city has received over 300 service requests so far and 60 reports of trees fully blocking roads.
She said that while requests are coming from throughout the city, they are slightly more concentrated in south Naperville.
Most customers’ power restored
LaCloche said that as of 2:24 p.m., most customers who’d reported power outages had their power restored, with the exception of about 30 customers in the area near Chicago Avenue and S. Sleight Street.
Riverwalk lower walkways inaccessible
Daniel Rehm, communications manager for the Naperville Park District, said the lower walkways on the Naperville Riverwalk are currently inaccessible due to flooding.
Some parks and facilities across Naperville experienced damage to fencing and signage. Springbrook Golf Course and Naperbrook Golf Course also had minimal damage.
Residents are advised to avoid park areas with flooding, downed trees and limbs or other storm damage.
How to report
The city reminded residents that power outages and downed trees can be reported to the City Call Center at (630) 420-6060. Downed trees can also be reported directly to the city’s Public Works Request Center. For police and fire emergencies, residents should call 911.
