First time we are seeing those two teams in action and it’s at the season opening boys water polo tournament at Naperville North: Metea valley against Waubonsie.

Waubonsie still on the attack with three minutes to go in the first, Dallys Dorsey with the catch and release for the warriors to go up 2-0.

Colin Szezensy stops the bleeding off a pass from Alex Lafferty. Metea gets on the board with seconds left in one, 3-1.

Waubonsie coming into the second, again, with power. Dallys Dorsey attacking the net and gets the ball to fall behind Jimmy Cronin for the waubonsie goal, up 4-1.

4 minutes left until the break, Warrior Ryan Ruhde gets the leading pass and crosses it into the net. Warriors swimming away with it, 5-1.

Metea coming into the second half with more energy than the first. Tyler Flanders skips it in up close, metea coming back trailing by just one.

Off of a long shot in the third, Colin Szezensy getting swallowed up in front of the net regains control and gets the goal to tie the game up at 5 with 3 minutes to play in the third.

After another WV goal, Metea ties it up again at 6s with seconds left in the third thanks to a rockey from Brady Erdman from way out.

It’s crunch time in the fourth quarter, metea looking to take the lead, they pass it around the horn until Tyler Flanders skips it in. Metea now in control.

Seconds left in the fourth, Waubonsie now fighting an uphill battle, Ivan Kuzmanovski knocks in a goal but it wouldn’t be enough as Metea comes from behind for the 9-8 victory.
