Naperville North vs. Waubonsie Valley Softball 4.17.19

Waubonsie Valley softball hosts the hot hitting Huskies of Naperville North in a make up game after the field was covered in snow earlier this week.

First Inning

After Aliana Eyberger reached on an error, Waubonsie clears the bases with a quick double play as Casey Dimech snags the Emma Johannes line drive and throws to first for a double play.

But the Huskies keep the inning alive before Alyssa Vansickle singles to right, scoring Lorri Pitcock from 2nd for a 1-0 lead.

North leading 2-0 thanks to timely two out hitting before Kendall Kedziora adds to the lead with a single up the middle. Alyssa Vansickle and Allison Arnold score, 4-0 Huskies after the first inning.

Fourth Inning

The score would remain the same until the top of the 4th when Sarah Smith rips a double into left field to score Alexis Hilgert. North takes a 5-0 lead.

Bases loaded in the 4th, Kendall Kedziora back at the dish with the bases loaded and the lefty delivers with another base hit up the middle. All three runners come in to score as the game is blown up with North leading 8-0.

Warriors not giving up despite the deficit, Megan Kennedy robs Kelsey Nardi of a hit with a diving catch of this sinking line drive to end the 4th inning.

Fifth Inning

After the Huskies add three more in the 5th, WV gets on the board on an rbi single from Avery Hickey, scoring Delaney Summers from third. Waubonise extends the game trailing 11-2 after 5.

Sixth Inning

Top of the 6th and another web gem from Waubonsie, Carli Kuta makes a great sliding grab against the fence in foul territory for the out.

Two down in the top of the 6th, Emma Johannes pokes a double into left center and scores Carmelia Chelich from second, pushing the lead back to 10. Three hits in the game for Johannes.

Last chance for the Warriors in the bottom of the 6th, but Aliana Eyberger makes a great snag off an Avery Hickey line drive to end the game. North takes the win by a 12-2 score.
