It’s senior night at Naperville North for the girls gymnastics team. As the huskies honor those graduating, Neuqua Valley gets ready for a tough DVC match up.
We start first with Baylee Modaff on the bars. She channels all her strength to get a few rotations around the bar before releasing for the dismount. One full rotation and the landing helps her to an 8.2 score. Highest bars score for the night.
We stay on the bars with huskie Ellie Lieberman. Her transition to the high bar is pretty cool! Once she gets up there, it doesn’t take long for her to release. The perfectly straight body and stuck landing helps her to a 7.6 bars score.
Wildcat Susan Jones on the vault now. She goes full speed for a yurenchnko approach on to the vault with a half twist off helping her to an 8.45 score, best vault score of the meet.
We stick with the wildcats and move to floor with Baylee Modaff. Her pass of a round off, two back handpsrings into a full helps her grab an 8.45 score, tops for that exercise.
We stay on the floor with Huskie Emma Ryan. She performs a round off back handspring layout with beautiful height along with it. She finishes with an 8.15 score.
We finish out the dual meet with Neuqua’s Lauren Codero on beam. Her dismount holds a back handspring… she gathers herself, then does another, before going off the beam backwards with a back tuck. She gets 8.9, another top score for the wildcats as they go on to just narrowly defeat Naperville North 128.65 to 126.
