Sectional quarterfinal time at Neuqua Valley, the Wildcats fresh off an opening round victory over Waubonsie Valley. Naperville North begin their quest for back to back sectional titles.
First Half
Naperville North gets off to a blazing hot start as Cam Swanson throws the ball ahead to Lainey Eckholm streaking down the pool, Eckholm finishes with the goal as the Huskies hold a 3-0 lead.
Later in the first quarter, Swanson with a shot that clangs off the post, but Lainey Eckholm grabs the rebound and puts home her 4th goal of the game. 8-0 Naperville North after the first quarter.
Neuqua looks to get the offense going as Micaela Johnson puts up a shot, but North’s defense is suffocating, deflecting the shot before it can get near the goal.
Still in the first half as sophomore Anna Tarantino shows off her strong swimming by going coast to coast for the goal, Huskies ready to put the game away early.
Later in the half, Tarantino and Swanson play give and go as Tarantino scores one of her game high 6 goals in the contest.
Second Half
In the 2nd half, North goalie Grace Raquel answers every Neuqua challenge, Kristen Spires with a shot saved by the Huskie goaltender.
Naperville North moves on to the sectional semi finals with a convincing win as senior Taylor Wessel adds four goals of her own. Metea Valley awaits in the next round.
