Week 6 of football action and Waubonsie Valley travels to new DVC opponents DeKalb. The Barbs are 3-2 going in to this game while the Warriors come in riding a three game losing streak after winning their first two games of the year.

First Quarter

First quarter and the barbs are all ready knocking on the door. Trenton Kyler finds Alex Siebens open in the endzone to put the barbs up early, 7-0.

On the ensuing kick off the warriors look to respond. Grayson Griffin looks for his path, sees it, and takes it, shooting up field, getting past the fifty yard line to pick up a lot of yardage… but unfortunately, the WV offense wouldn’t be able to take advantage of it.

Second Quarter

Little under eight and a half to go until half and Trenton Kyler connects with Trenton McCollum open in the middle… little Trenton and Trenton action as he then runs in the 50 yard touchdown to double the barbs lead, 14-0.

Third Quarter

Coming out of the break, Dekalb up two touchdowns… make that three after Kyler hands off to Avery Medina who tries one route… then changes his mind and dodges and weaves his way to pay dirt. The Barbs clicking on all cylinders, leading 21-0.

Fourth Quarter

We’ve seen Kyler throw and hand off… but how about his own legs? In the fourth quarter he decides to take it himself, going untouched for 50 yards to score, pushing their lead up 28-0.

Little over four minutes left in the game, Waubonsie Valley not giving up hope with Ethan Nelson throwing a pass intended for Demari Wilson but instead it’s intercepted by Donovan Lacey who runs 50 plus yards… Barbs now leading 34-0 after missing the extra point.

Waubonsie would find the end zone once in garbage time, with under two minutes to play, Bryce Logan sneaks across the line but it would be too late as DeKalb takes the victory 34-7.
