Wheaton Warrenville South visiting Aurora to face  Metea Valley to kick off the 2019 football season. The mustangs are under new direction of coach John Perpet and look to change the narrative after going 1 and 8 last year and finishing fifth in the DuPage Valley Conference.

First Quarter

The tigers all ready up by a field goal with three minutes left in the first quarter. Prince Lankah takes the hand off from Parker Brown and shoots through a gap for an 18 yard touchdown run, pushing the score up 10-0.

Second Quarter

Second quarter action and the Tigers running game still going strong. This time it’s Jake Arthurs barreling across the goal line for another 6 points. With 10 minutes left to go in the second, Wheaton Warrenville South leads the Metea Valley Mustangs 17-0.

8 minutes left until the break Metea down but 24 now, new mustang QB Nick Shannon drops back looking for a teammate but finds Ryan Frank instead for the pick.

Minute later and the Tigers are at it again. Parker Brown showing that he can throw too. Hitting Jake Arthur with the screen pass who then zips his way in across the goal line again for another TD. Tigers now lead 31-0.

Third Quarter

Metea Valley starting to connect in the second half, trailing by 45. CJ Wilcox gets the ball and turns on the jets, moving through the gap then down the sideline for a massive 80 yard touchdown run getting the mustangs on the board but that would be the only TD for the black and gold tonight as the Tigers go on to get their first win of the season 52-8.
