About Jannie’s Hope
The mission of the Janice Lamb McArdle Cancer Research Foundation (Jannie’s Hope) is to fund innovative research to create awareness and education, along with early detection methods, advance treatment techniques and ultimately find a cure for Lung Cancer.
The foundation was established in 2008 when Janice McArdle lost her battle to lung cancer. As a result of his loss, Dr. McArdle, an established eye doctor in Naperville, started doing research on lung cancer and was unpleasantly surprised to find that 1 in every 3 deaths are a result of lung cancer and that lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths across the U.S. However, a significantly smaller amount of research funds are invested in lung cancer.
His loss and this information triggered him to start his foundation which has raised significant funds with bi-yearly fundraisers including their upcoming White Sox event.
